Reading Habits Book Tag|I Might Have a Few Bad Habits….♥

Hi guys! Sorry I didn’t post yesterday as  I said I would, but it was a rainy day and I started a good book (Paper Towns by John Green. I have half of it left so I’m hoping I can finish it later or tomorrow sometime.) and rain just makes for a perfect reading day. I was wondering…Should I do a used book haul? I went to a used book store two days and got a few and I’m going to a used book sale in a few minutes… Anyway, today I will be doing the Reading Habits Book Tag that I’ve been wanting to do for a while and I was tagged by Catherine and I just want to say thank you and if you don’t follow her yet, please go do so because she is so sweet and I love her so much♥                                            So let’s get into it, shall we?

Do You Have A Certain Place At Home For Reading?

I usually like to stay in my  room, in my chair or on my bed, but when I want to be with my family (even though they can get loud), I’ll come out to the living room and sit in the chair out there, because 1. It’s faciing the side of the TV so I won’t get distracted and 2.It’s just comfortable…

Bookmark or random piece of paper?

Honestly? I love bookmarks, but every time I try to use one, I end up losing it and when I try to find a stray sheet of paper, it doesn’t show up so I end up just having to remember the page number I’m on.

Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?

I prefer to stop after I finish the chapter I’m reading but most of the time that can’t really happen and I like to finish the sentence I’m reading. (Cat, we’re the same on that one,)

Do you eat or drink while reading?

….Yes. I love to either have some tea, my water bottle or a cappuccino thing. I will also read while  eat. Very carefully of course.

Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?

I love to listen to music (either classical or the radio in which I don’t know most of the songs because I live in the shadows…) but for me, the television can get distracting and really really bright lights, so I have no idea what that’s about…

One book at a time or several at once?

Lately I’ve only been reading one at a time because I feel more invested in that singular story, but sometimes I’ll  read two at the maximum.

Reading at home or everywhere?

I mainly read at home, but I take my book everywhere with me and people have been forcing me to leave it at home and I don’t like it…

Reading out loud or silently in your head?

I usually only read silently, but when I’m reading outside (alone of course)  I will read out loud in a somewhat dramatic way….If not that, I sometimes like to read to kids at the library.

Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

NOOO. I don’t like spoilers. But if I do end up seeing a spoiler on the internet, I will still read the book because I’m that person who wants to know how it happened (*cough cough* The Selection.).

Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

Um…I wouldn’t do it on purpose, obviously, but it does happen and I don’t really like it but I’ve sort of taught myself how to hold it properly so it won’t break.

Do you write in your books?

Okay, you guys are going to hate me but technically I don’t write in them, I highlight quotes that I like from the book and then add a sticky note. I feel like admitting this makes me a murderer but I would never do it in a library book or a book I don’t think I’m not going to keep.

Thank you for reading! Do we have any habits that are the same?

Tag! You’re it!                                                                                                                                       Kay |Kelly|Carolina|Alyssa|Anyone Who Wants To Do It!

  1. We have pretty much the same habits -except for the highlighting. I can’t even think about doing that to a book. One of the books I got second hand has highlighter all through it, and was really distracting while reading. So I sort of gained a hatred for it after that. 😁

    Great answers!

    1. Oh! That’s horrible!
I only highlight in books I know I’m going to keep, haha. I would never give one away that I’ve highlighted. Though, something similar happened to me too, but I liked it. It showed me what the last person liked about it, and from the quotes they highlighted, a make up a certain figure in my head of that person. Does that sound weird?

  2. Thank you for doing the tag! 😊❤️ That’s so cute how you spend time with your family reading, I wish I didn’t get distracted so easily so I could do the same. And YES stopping at a period is a must, I didn’t realize other people did that too! I always take mine with me everywhere too, it’s amazing to get yourself out of social situations you don’t wanna be in 💁🏻‍♀️😂 and I usually get mine from the library so I don’t do it but if it’s your own book, highlighting is totally okay in my eyes!

    1. It’s still very hard and most of the time I’ll retreat after an hour or so.
Me neither! I thought it was just something I did, haha.
Lol, I know! Someone asked me if my eyes were real (Yes, I put that correctly) and I’m like “Um….yes?”. Is that a normal question to ask a stranger?

Exactly. I only do it books I know I’m going to keep. I wouldn’t want to give one away, say to the library, if i had done that

  3. It happened to me with The Selection, too. I saw a ton of spoilers on Pinterest but I still read all the books to know what really happened.

  4. Thanks for tagging me, this is a really cool tag. I absolutely agree with you about the tv and bright lights being distracting, but I’m even worse, if I’m at home I can’t even listen to music. If I’m outside, I can but only as a means to drown out my surroundings otherwise it’s too distracting.
